A Message of Gratitude and Hope
Over the years, together we have welcomed new neighbors, supported communities impacted by disasters, and advocated for dignity, justice, and opportunity for refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants. Because of your support, countless families have found safety, stability, and a place to call home.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of the CWS Orange County office. This was an incredibly difficult decision and not one we ever hoped to make. It is important to know that this decision is not a reflection of the dedication of our supporters, partners, or local leaders. Rather, it reflects the challenges of the current environment and the realities facing refugee and immigrant services nationwide.
While our physical presence in Orange County is coming to an end, our commitment to welcome remains steadfast. The work we started together will continue through our Northern California office.
To our supporters, volunteers, partners, and advocates: thank you. Your compassion, generosity, and commitment have made a lasting impact on thousands of lives. We encourage you to stay engaged, stay informed, and continue championing the values of welcome and belonging.
We will continue to share updates through our Northern California office at CWSNorCal.org and through our State of Play newsletter.
Finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Orange County team members whose dedication, expertise, and compassion have transformed lives across Southern California. Their contributions leave a legacy that will endure for years to come.
Thank you for standing with us. Though this chapter is ending, the work of welcome continues.
May our work continue in unity.
With gratitude,
Tami Shaikh
