Overview:

CWS Orange County extends a warm welcome to refugees, immigrants, and asylum-seekers, offering them freedom, hope, and opportunities through direct services, advocacy, and community-building. Join us in supporting our new neighbors as they rebuild their lives in Southern California.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • English Conversation Tutor: Assist individuals in improving their English language skills.
  • Office and Social Media Support: Help with administrative tasks and social media management.
  • Driver for Client Appointments: Provide transportation for clients to appointments and essential errands.
  • Webinars and Workshops: Facilitate or assist in educational sessions for clients.
  • Financial Literacy and Cultural Orientation Training: Educate clients on financial management and help them navigate U.S. cultural norms.
  • Job Preparation Training: Assist with resume development and interview preparation.
  • Legal Team Support: Aid in administrative tasks to support legal services.
  • Additional Opportunities: If you have a specific interest or project idea, we encourage you to share it with us!

Position Reporting:

The volunteer will report to the Community Engagement Program Officer and collaborate with various programs and teams within CWS Orange County.

Requirements:

  • Able to commit to up to 3 months of direct service.
  • Able to commit to approximately 1-3 hours a week of direct service.
  • 18 years old or older.
  • Attend a volunteer orientation/training.
  • Complete a background check.
