CWS Orange County extends a warm welcome to refugees, immigrants, and asylum-seekers, offering them freedom, hope, and opportunities through direct services, advocacy, and community-building. Join us in supporting our new neighbors as they rebuild their lives in Southern California.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:
- English Conversation Tutor: Assist individuals in improving their English language skills.
- Office and Social Media Support: Help with administrative tasks and social media management.
- Driver for Client Appointments: Provide transportation for clients to appointments and essential errands.
- Webinars and Workshops: Facilitate or assist in educational sessions for clients.
- Financial Literacy and Cultural Orientation Training: Educate clients on financial management and help them navigate U.S. cultural norms.
- Job Preparation Training: Assist with resume development and interview preparation.
- Legal Team Support: Aid in administrative tasks to support legal services.
- Additional Opportunities: If you have a specific interest or project idea, we encourage you to share it with us!
Position Reporting:
The volunteer will report to the Community Engagement Program Officer and collaborate with various programs and teams within CWS Orange County.
Requirements:
- Able to commit to up to 3 months of direct service.
- Able to commit to approximately 1-3 hours a week of direct service.
- 18 years old or older.
- Attend a volunteer orientation/training.
- Complete a background check.
